Picture of “King” the cat who was kicked (with update)

Just a quick note to do one more short follow up to that grisly story about the stray cat who was kicked about 10 feet into a hedge by a nasty person who enjoyed himself when it did it.

I wanted to write a quick post, on this story, which focused on the victim of the crime. At the moment, nearly all the focus has really has been on the alleged criminal, Andre Robinson, the perpetrator and his behaviour. I think, in general, there should be more focus, in cat abuse stories, on the victim’s recovery and I am pleased to say that in this case it has happened.

First, here’s a picture of King:

As you can see, King is a grey and white cat. His coat is called: solid and white. He has a nice white moustache, by the way.

King is currently recovering at an ASPCA animal hospital and he appears to be doing pretty well. He continues to receive treatment and monitoring. There are no reports of injuries of any kind (perhaps he was just shook up and bruised a bit) so he appears to have been very lucky.

Apparently, King was rescued the day after the assault by what one newspaper called a “determined coalition of cops and animal rights groups” (I like that description).

Of course, we have to find a silver lining which is that King has become a bit of a celebrity in which case there is no doubt in my mind that a lot of people will come forward to provide him with a super home.

Which brings me to the last point, namely, that there are hundreds of thousands of cats just like King were are just as good and who need a loving home just as much.

    • You are only a human but from my standpoint you are subhuman. You are a nasty individual and I’d like to give you a good kicking see how you like it.

  1. Poor little soul, give the POCers 10 minutes with the “alleged” criminal and he would soon learn what it’s like to be on the wrong end of violence.

  2. Reminds me of the founder of my current cat “furmily.” Same colouring, build, and eyes. He took a month to be visible, and 6 to accept pats routinely. At 9, he has forgotten anything ever went wrong and is a cuddly, gentle giant. Though still timid of humans, he is no longer a scared fellow, but happy and secure. Wishing the same and better for King!
