Rockie riding in Laci's baby stroller.

Rockie riding in Laci's baby stroller. Rockie's markings on her chest. Rockie playing with FatCat...she don't realize how much bigger than her he really is. Rockie climbing *as usual* she climbs on EVERYTHING

I have received a new kitten from my brother for my daughter. The kitten is gorgeous! She has gray colored shorter hair with only a small white strip on her chest and a tiny bit on her tummy.

She is only approx 3 months old so I don't know what her build will be later i.e. big build, muscular, etc. She has a round face with beautiful yellow-ish gold colored eyes.

Oddly, she has an extra digit on her front paws, only one extra, but they are on both feet in the same locations...where the thumbs are *sorry don't know the technical terms*.

She also has a strange meow. It's not a regular sound. It is more cracky and higher pitched. Almost like she CAN'T meow as well as my older kitty.

BEAUTIFUL KITTY! She has the best personality, next to my FatCat I've ever seen. She is very playful, which I attribute to her age mostly. She is not aggressive. She loves to climb and loves my older cat dearly. She is also extremely good w/my two young children. Laci is her "owner" and is only 5 yrs. old. She's never scratched or been mean to her for anything, even though she sometimes would be in the right.

She sleeps w/my daughter or myself almost every night. She honestly don't care how much Laci wiggles around or moves or even moves her around, she will just go right back to sleep in ANY position.

Overall she is a great Kitten and i/we love her dearly. She was a found kitten along w/a sibling that the land owner took home with him.

Unfortunately that baby didn't make it, but Luckily Rockie did! There are homes close to where the babies were found, so it is believed that maybe they were not throw away babies...either way, no matter how much she cost *0* or the breed she may or may not be...she has a forever home!

by: Cindy

LOL Michael, you are so very right about FatCat! She gets that look quite often from him. He loves her dearly, but realizes that she is simply put..crazy! She has ALOT more energy than he does. Maybe she can help him become a not-so-Fat-Cat.
The reason for me finding this wonderful site was to see if i could identify her breed, at all. I also saw the Russian Blue *?* kitties and thought she fit that category quite nicely...EXCEPT for the white on her...then i looked at the Chartruex *?* and thought maybe she fits there...
I realize that she dont fit into any one category, for cat breeds anyway. However she fits in here just fine. She is just like the rest of us, a mix of many.
I am so glad I came across this site. I have seen some of the cutest/prettiest/most handsome cats EVER. I love to read the stories about other kitties and their humans as well!
thank you for answering my question regarding her breed as well!~~Cindy~~

Jan 15, 2011 Russian Blure resemblance
by: Michael

H Cindy, your grey kitten does have a resemblance to the purebred Russian Blue.

The coat is "blue" (dilute black) and the eye colour is correct too.

This is not to say that she is a Russian Blue. She is polydactyl (extra toes) and she has a locket of white on the chest making her a bicolor. Russian Blues are only pure, 100% grey.

She is a very pretty cat and has found a nice home. I like the expression of FatCat in the last picture, looking calmly on thinking what the hell is that little devil getting up to now!

  1. Aww she’s cute. She look exactly like my Totoro. She also have a white spot on the neck and a larger one on the belly.

(scroll down to see pictures as a kitten she’s a big girl now).

Funny thing, she does have a strange high-pitched and cracky meow. She’s adorable and extremely playful. We got her in a farm, her mother and two olders sisters were the same magnificent blue as well, but she had a sibling all black. The previous owner told us there are only blue or black kittens in litters every time.
Vet told us these blue cats are genetic subcategories of black europeen cats, like “abnomalies” but gorgeous abnomalies… 😉

    • Thanks for commenting Emjur. Blue is dilute black. The dilution is caused by a gene. It seems that your photos did not upload sadly. Thanks anyway.

  2. Truth is , I tried to find what breed my cat is as well, but they are so close to each other, so I found relation with at least 2 breeds out of 4..and in some points something was common up to even 3 different. In example, the eyes were korat for sure, but he has white locket, so we go back to british, then again the body structure, closer to Russian blue..and bla bla bla… so I wondered, what s the chances to have been mixed with all that 4. Or a domestic mixed with one of those 4,… I mean, in the very end , you can never be sure, and it doesn’t rly matter.

  3. I d bet my money on the blue British shorthair breed due to the difference of the number of toes and the white locket. But you know how the drill is… There are no “pure” breeds. There are only human laws about “disqualifications” of one breed to another. And that is why I d be my money on the above statement. In general, British shorthair is way more tolerant breed than the others. The other ones are rarer and way more strict to what qualify them as what they are.

  4. Your kitty looks just like our kitty!
We think it’s closer to a Korat but previously thought it was a Russian Blue.
