One of my friends adopted a dwarf cat (named Smurfie) from a local rescue organization. It was just a tiny kitten when she got it so, naturally, we assumed that the legs would grow over time. When they didn’t, my friend took the cat to the vet fearing the worst. The doctor just laughed and said:
“There’s nothing wrong with this cat! In fact, she’s in perfect health. She’s just a dwarf.”
That’s how she and I became entangled for the love of this special little breed.
Smurfie died recently at the age of 10. She was a good friend and an amazing little teacher!
