Snapshot of Black Cat at End of Bed

This is just a photographic snapshot of my cat taken this morning on my iPhone. It is just a snapshot but I like it nonetheless. I like the design of it and I like his eyes, his position and the colours! And of course, I can’t resist putting it on the website so please forgive me if I bore you sometimes with my Charlie snapshots 😉

  1. What a great photo of Charlie! He doesn’t look as much like Monty there– his Siamese heritage is evident, I think, and Monty definitely does not have any Siamese in him. Too bad Charlie doesn’t enjoy the outside anymore. Monty loves it, mostly because he enjoys tormenting the chipmunk who lives in the wood pile by the back porch. He actually caught it yesterday, but it got away. He lets it go to have the fun of catching it again. I tell him if he doesn’t plan to eat it he shouldn’t torment it.

  2. Charlie looks rather glamorous in this excellent photo of a black cat. He is getting more beautiful as he ages, if that is possible.

    • Thanks Leah. His coat is pretty silky. It does vary a bit in the way it feels. Sometimes it feels very silky maybe because of the chicken I am feeding him-I mean a high-quality cooked breast of chicken that is meant to be eaten by people! I also comb him with a very fine comb, a flea comb that is 32 prongs to the inch. I think this stimulates the sebaceous glands in the skin to produce an oil that makes his coat feel very nice and look glossy. I would recommend combing a cat with a flea comb but it has to be done gently if the cat has a double or triple coat. Charlie has a single coat and he is very easy to come. Note: I also feed him cat food (mainly) just in case you imagined me feeding him chicken breast as a staple diet.

    • Thanks Nancy. He is a handsome boy. He’s on the bed with me right now as it is approaching 7 AM on Sunday morning while I dictate this. He’s just had his breakfast and gone to the toilet. Complete routine is the name of the game!

  4. Just a quick note to say that at the moment I’m dictating everything using a speech to written word application called Dragon Dictate. It’s good but not perfect and sometimes there are incorrect words that I can’t see when I check them because I am word-blind. I am word-blind because, for many years, I used to speed read. That is why there was a typo at the beginning of this page which is now corrected. Fortunately, the French word for cat is “chat”. So it wasn’t that bad 😉 Apologies.
