A cat ruff is the long fur around a cat’s neck when that cat is for example a purebred Norwegian Forest Cat because the breed standard insists upon it. Maine Coons also have ruffs. Their appearance is dictated to by the breed standard. Cat associations like to use clothes from a byegone age to describe cat fur!
