15-year-old charged with causing “unnecessary suffering” after throwing cat over a fence by its tail

Here we go again…another teen who will likely get off with little or no punishment for abusing a cat. Not only can he not be named, his identity can’t be disclosed online.

The 15-year-old boy from Harlow, Essex has been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal after a video surfaced online showing a cat being thrown by its tail over a garden fence.

Essex Police report the teen is set to appear at Colchester Magistrates Court on Friday. Police also added that according to Section 49 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933, he cannot be named for legal reasons and that includes people disclosing his identity on social media.
