A slide show of about 60 photographs by Kathrin Stucki of the Bahraini Dilmun cat taken in the back garden of a house in Bahrain. You can read about this cat on this page (opens a new window so can stay on this page). — Photos: copyright Kathrin Stucki.
This is an interesting and rare cat. It could be a formally recognised cat breed but is not. It is possibly a wild cat hybrid but if this cat is a wild cat hybrid the wild cat part is becoming diluted by cross-breeding with domestic cats or community cats that have no wild cat in them. It is only found in Bahrain an island state in the Middle East.
Theoretically the Bahraini should be the same as the Arabian Mau, but I think the Behraini looks more Oriental.

There are a lot of pictures in this website of the Arabian Mau but none with the same spotted coat or look of the Bahraini cat.
The Bahraini seems to be more purebred – less variation in coat color types. The Arabian Mau seems to be a slender version of the European random bred cat. I don’t know what variation in coat types you can see with the Bahraini Dilmun. There is one with a tabby and white coat in the slide show. The featured cat in the slide show looks more distinct as a “breed” than the Arabian Mau cats I saw.
