What would the haters do if there were no cats to hate?
What would the haters do if there were no cats to hate? This is a good question. It is an excellent question. Marc asked it. It implies that the people who hate cats use the cat as some sort of receptacle or target for their hate and anger.
The cat is an easy, ready-made target for messed up individuals who have an unstoppable need to release their anger and hatred of the world at something, anything. The cat is just there, in front of them, on the road, wandering around, in the sights of their .22 rifle. You name the circumstances, the cat is a ready-made target for a messed up person to release some of that anger. It need not be the cat. The cat is just a convenient target. The roaming cat is easy to kill for a nasty person in a pick-up truck with pain-in-the-ass rifle.
The best word is “receptacle” because the anger inside these nasty, stupid people is transferred to the cat, the cat they injure and kill. It is like self-harming without the self harm. Killing cats releases anger and the uncomfortable emotions these damaged people feel.
This is what I think Marc is hinting at. If I am incorrect then please tell me. Actually, in his own words, it is what he is more or less saying. This is part of his superb comment:
My question is this; what would the haters do if there were no cats to hate?
I know the answer.
They would hate something else just as helpless and intrinsic to life on earth. Cat’s a great to hate for hunters and animal abusers and people who feel empowered by taking a life, who enjoy killing and would rather kill than shoot a target. It rationalizes their hateful actions in the most morally deplorable ways possible.
If humans who spend so much time being angry and hating could be less accepting of how terrible it feels we’d be ok, but sadly there are many people who actually are willing to endure those feelings permanently, either out of righteousness or inability to love. The only thing that makes these people smile is when they laugh, and their laughter is either cynical or at the expense of another. They feed off failure and not success. We’ve all hated and been in this state but most of us can’t stand to be there for more than a few seconds because ultimately we see the result of staying would be that we’d hate ourselves for being like that…..
I don’t need say any more. Marc has said it. You can read his full comment by clicking on this link. It is an article all on its own and it deserves to be digested.
In conclusion, cat haters are people who, in a strict sense, have mental health problems. That may sound a bit extreme but it is essentially correct because they are killing animals that we put on the planet. They are our responsibility. These people are a symptom of the major aspect of what is wrong on the planet – people and their messed up mentality.
What do you think? Have you meet some cat haters? What were they like? Have you meet people who are not sure about cats? If you want to write more than a comment, please write an article using this form. You can add pictures and videos if you want to.
