Here is Walter, our black and white DSH cat, when he was only a few months old. He loved to haul himself up the net curtains and, when he got to the top, play with the wind chimes in the top of the picture. His younger brother Jozef was very jealous of Walter when he did this as Jozef being younger and smaller couldn’t manage the climb so we used to lift him up for his turn at tolling the bells. I love this picture because it shows a happy kitten, full of mischief, being allowed to do what kittens do best without fear or knowledge of punishment and without the spectre of declawing surgery in the background. Walter is grown up now and hasn’t climbed the nets for several years. Through the window you can just about see the houses opposite in the Grove where we live.
