I don’t use the internet anymore!! Except for news roundups and MSN’s presentation of the news. This must prove that the internet as we knew it – in respect of content sites – is now dying and almost dead.
I use AI all the time nowadays and it is improving rapidly on a daily basis. It is simply amazing; amazingly efficient and helpful. I have long, written, dialogues with ChatGPT.
The assistance that this AI bot gives me is outstanding. Far better than researching the topic on the internet. In that respect the internet is dead I’d say.
Wikipedia has over 6 million articles and over 60 million pages but it is dead too (in effect) because AI can provide all the information that Wikipedia provides and more in rapid time. No searching. Just ask the question. Wikipedia must be suffering a catastrophic loss of visits.
And AI has killed off my website. It is semi-dead. But after years of mentally processing its gradual demise, I have come to terms with it and the coup de grรขce delivered by the ever-polite and graceful ChatGPT is actually welcome.
I have just asked it what to do with the website and after a 10-minute discussion I have all the answers. ChatGPT even wrote an email for me and a notification that about archiving the site. All in an instant. So efficient.
ChatGPT is a little too gushy and polite for my personal liking but I can’t complain about that. In fact, I can ask it to be less gushy and it’ll comply willingly.
Millions of independently owned (single person-run sites) have become redundant thanks to AI over the past few months. They have also become almost worthless. But that is probably good as there was endless duplication and far too much cynical SEO. There were far too many websites.
It is a shocker but we have to accept it and as mentioned AI is so damn good. It puts website research to shame.
And if you want, ChatGPT will remember you and you can return to old conversation streams and pick up where you left off some time ago.
As AI becomes smarter and smarter we will become ever more reliant on it and the internet will shrink more and more.
The history of the world wide web will be like one of those normal distribution curves. It expanded rapidly – peaked out to when the AI was introduced – and is now rapidly shrinking and will continue to do so.
Of course the video and social media websites are unchanged. It is the content websites that have died. ChatGPT is the king of content and it acquired all its vast knowledge by ‘stealing’ it from those now redundant independent websites!
No one will read this post because it will be invisible on the internet! Well perhaps not quite as Bing likes the site. THANK YOU, BING. I LOVE YOU TOO ๐๐.
As for Google? I hate you for your crappy algos. Bing is far more genuine. Far more. A much better search engine even if it is so comprehensively dominated by Google.
Bing ranks this site highly; often articles being ranked one on page one. But Google? Disappearing act I am afraid.
