Zachariah Atteberry is a great guy. I have known him through PoC for quite a while. He writes very well and loves animals.
He struggled in his early life like many of us. He has found success through working at an animal shelter and found confidence through working with animals. He is highly skilled at communicating with animals although people with Asperger’s Syndrome have difficulty communicating with people. He is going to be a vet tech.
Zachariah was bullied at school because he is different and he lost his confidence. He became very depressed and he freely admits this in his video, which has a raw honesty about it which is both impressive and almost shocking. He lays his soul bare for all to see.
The video is beautiful for its raw honesty and openness. It delivers a message of hope that you can find your way in life even under the most difficult of circumstances and even when you are completely lost. If you are an outsider, often you can find that way through animals, through interacting with them, in helping them beautifully as Zachariah has and in building your confidence through being useful. You find a purpose.
Cats are perfect for people with the skills and intelligence, but difficulties, that Zachariah has. Animals don’t judge you. Animals don’t bully you. They accept you if you accept, respect and love them. This is the beauty of animals. They have helped to heal Zach. He has healed them in return.
The words of Zachariah:
“We can no longer afford to tell ourselves that we are not capable when we have always had the power inside of us to be successful. And success is less about being rich and famous… and more about doing something fulfilling such as saving an animal or helping a person when they are down.”
He is a good guy. You can read his autobiography if you wish (the link opens a new tab/window). It was written a few years ago. I requested it.
Please comment on Facebook as well as it helps spread the word – thanks.
