Beans Cartoon Cat
Beans in A Cartoonist's Nightmare
Beans cartoon cat was a teammate of Porky Pig. Unfortunately the pig outshone the cat, even when Beans was the featured "actor". Beans was a chubby and impish character who walked on two legs (anthropomorphic - ascribing human form or attributes to a being or thing not human). The first cartoon was screened in 1935. This was the early days of cartoon cats. Felix the Cat was the first when he was screened for the first time in 1919. The cartoons have a certain character that cannot be reproduced today. The first film was I Haven't Got a Hat. In this film Beans tosses a cat and dog on a piano disturbing a recital by Oliver Owl. Oliver gets revenge by pouring ink on Beans. The fight goes on but they make up.
The second cartoon film was A Cartoonist's Nightmare, which can be seen below.
In the third cartoon film, Hollywood Capers Beans faces Oliver Owl again who plays a film director. Beans caused havoc on the film set. In the fourth Beans cartoon cat courts Porky Pig's daughter. Porky Pig's first appearance was also in 1935. Warner Brothers produced 7 cartoons. The last was made in 1944.
