Calls for retribution against the dentist who shot Cecil the lion

It is spreading virally. There are petitions and many articles. It’s all over the online news. The people, including celebrities, want justice and retribution for the wanton, illegal killing of a much loved lion, “Cecil”, in Zimbabwe. If you have not heard about Walter Palmer’s sick exploits, please read this page.

PALMER. Piers Morgan writes: “He’s just a smirking, vile, callous assassin with no heart, whose shameless boasting of his disgusting exploits is almost as repellent as his exploits.

There is a call for Dentist Walter James Palmer to face justice in Zimbabwe. In fact, there is now a Facebook page dedicated to this objective. Mr Palmer is going to suffer big time. He’ll have to pay a heavy price now and about time. The world is turning against people like this. Some of the comments on the Facebook page are as follows:

“Such an embarrassment to Minnesota. Sorry this happened!”

“This Palmer guy just enjoys killing living creatures. What next? A human? He has no conscience. Palmer is 100% evil and sick and he is completely unaware of it.”

There is a memorial for Cecil outside the office of this dentist.

It would seem that a lot of people want this to dentist to go out of business because of what he did. There are definite undertones of the Kristen Lindsey case. One way the public can obtain retribution and hurt this man is not to attend his dentistry business. You don’t have to rely on other people to achieve that result.

Piers Morgan who it has to be said tried to have a successful career in America and failed because he detests the gun laws in America and there was a backlash against him said that “I’d love to hunt with Walter Palmer so I can stuff and mount him for MY office wall”.

It is hoped that Cecil’s death is not in vain. This might be (but I doubt it) a wake-up call to end big game trophy hunting in Africa.

According to a local reporter, Palmer’s office is completely shut at the moment. All the shades are drawn and it is completely locked down. It is called River Bluff Dental.

Palmer’s name is trending on Twitter. He is all over the news this morning. And there is an overwhelming call for retribution against him. They, the people, want justice. This is a new aspect to the Internet when the public can voice their opinion in strong terms through social media which is then picked up by newspapers and amplified. Trending stories like this have real clout.

Celebrities, too, are outraged. Celebrities have taken to Twitter to blast him. Cara Delevinge says “This Walter Palmer is a poor excuse of a human being!”

Sharon Osbourne says “I hope this Walter Palmer loses his home, his practice and is money. He has already lost his soul.”

Back to Piers Morgan who writes “I will sell tickets for $50,000 to anyone who wants to come with me and tracked down fat, greedy, selfish murderous businessmen like Dr Palmer in their natural habitat.”

Ricky Gervais fuming writes “It’s not the food. It’s not the shooting, or tin cans would do. It must just be the thrill of killing. Mental,”

  2. In the past, Kenya had a shoot-to-kill policy vis-a-vis poachers. It is regrettable that Zimbabwe, and the US as well, do not have the same.

  3. I’m not usually a fan of Piers Morgan, but I whole heartedly agree with his comments. I just wish I had the $50K to join him on his ‘hunting’ expedition.

Hmmm.. maybe I can travel to Minnesota, find an impoverished local resident, with dodgy morals who’ll be happy to ‘confirm’ for a fee, that it’s perfectly legal for me to hunt dentists! If that excuse works for Mr. Palmer, why shouldn’t it work for me?

Maybe I can find a similar ‘legal advisor’ down in Texas to help confirm the legality of hunting vets 😉

    • Wouldn’t it be great to set Palmer off into the African savannah and hunt him down and….I’d better stop there. It would be so good. There would be rejoicing. A lot of people are sick and tired of not seeing justice done and a failure to protect animals.

  4. I’m off to sign as many petitions as I can. I’ve never understood that mentality, to look at another animal (zebra, lion, bear, coyote, whatever) and reach for a gun to kill it, not for food or for defense (and I mean a direct attack) but just for the pure joy of killing. Mankind hasn’t evolved as far as we thought.
