This is a short article about cat survival and will get your heart pumping to start the week off right. We’ve all heard cats have nine lives, and this cat is living proof.
Meet Sylvester, who resided at the Towers Hotel in Dauphin, Manitoba until a fire last Thursday morning caused the building to collapse. Take a look at the YouTube video, which captures little Sylvester as he escapes amidst the rubble. The lucky guy appears about 29 seconds into the video.
The video is heart-stopping.
The YouTube video was taken by David Katcsma as Sylvester escaped from the Towers Hotel as it was being demolished on Thursday. The fire had started around 3 a.m. Thursday morning, and what remained of the building was demolished shortly after noon.
Sylvester, who is believed to live with one of the hotel residents, was taken to Dauphin Vet Clinic. Other than a bit of smoke inhalation and being being traumatized from the fire, he’s in good shape. He was reunited with his owner, who apparently was also uninjured. The RCMP has arrested a man in connection with the fire.
There have been several stories of cats surviving fires to make the news recently. It’s especially nice to see such a well made video documenting that escape.
