A cat is overcome by the magnitude and magnificence of the quantity of prey before him. His prey selection sensors are overloaded so he takes a mad jump into the middle of the mass of pigeons and voilà…nada. He gets nothing but a flying leap into the unknown ending with a heavy landing and confusion.
This wasn’t cat hunting; this was mission impossible. It was too easy. Domestic cats have to stalk silently, wait furtively, rush rapidly and attack with aggression. Not jump into pigeons taking off and landing with a thump. Time to reset the hunting sensors and have a rethink.
