Elsa has been in the care of the CNY SPCA since Syracuse resident Joyanna Lathrop rushed out of her house and rescued the poor kitty after a plea was posted on Facebook.

The CNY SPCA confirmed Elsa has been officially adopted but will remain at the Mattydale shelter until after she’s spayed.

In an interview with CNY Central News, SPCA Humane Education Director Dee Schaefer says she’s glad that Elsa will get her happy ending and reported the kitty is doing well.

Dee would like to remind all cat owners that allowing a pet outside unattended is risky, no matter what time of year.
