Cats who get stuck in trees (are they really stuck?) don’t always appreciate (do they ever appreciate it?) being rescued. In this instance a nice guy, Joseph Lines, rescues a cat, Sarah, and gets bitten for his efforts. The sounds this guy makes as he is bitten are slightly amusing but they shouldn’t be. It’s a reminder that rescuing a cat from a tree is a good thing to do or at least that is the general opinion but thankless except the cat’s owner will be eternally grateful. The cat will be bemused. He was probably planning to come down that afternoon and the rescue was an unwelcome intrusion 😉
A fundraiser achieved £600 in donations to help Mr Lines financially as he is self-employed. He lost income when in hospital. It goes to show that cat bites which become infected require antibiotics quickly to prevent the infection getting out of hand.
Sarah was up the tree for three days and it was 40 feet up! It took place in Dorset, UK.

The cat was hanging on and it’s teeth were the easiest weapon. Anyone getting bit by a cat should see a doctor. My husband nearly lost his lower arm to a cat bite from my in laws outdoor declawed intact cat. It was just a small puncture not a gaping wound. If we had been aware of this we would have went to the ER right away and probably escaped a huge bill and a lot of suffering for my husband.
In this case the human is 100% at fault. But for intervening he would not have been bitten. It’s like antagonizing a dog that would have otherwise not bothered you. Most cats come down when ready.
