Cat throwing man and woman sentenced to 20 days in jail
Do you remember the man and woman who thought it was a good idea to throw a cat between themselves across the room and in their ignorance decide that it was a good idea to video the whole thing. Â A remarkable example of a lack of moral compass; not knowing that what they were doing was both morally and legally wrong because if they did realise it was wrong they would not have videoed themselves and posted it online. Â Apparently Fowler admitted that he was drunk and had taken drugs at the time. They were both babysitting. The incident took place on February 16, 2015.
It’s as if they were showing off their skills and their enjoyment in what they were doing. Â They wanted to share it with their friends on Facebook. Â It is extraordinary what people decide to share with their “friends”. The attitude of these now convicted criminals, Kaine Fowler and Melissa Candela, is quite similar to the attitude of Kristen Lindsey who as we all know proudly demonstrated to the world that she believed it was okay to allegedly shoot a neighbour’s cat in the head with an arrow, at close range, and then post a photograph taken by her mother on Facebook.
This is a new phenomenon; committing a crime and sharing it with so called Facebook friends. I find it very odd.

Well, Kaine and Melissa admitted guilt which is at least one positive thing that has come out of this sad story and have been sentenced to 20 days in jail. Â The sentence does not commence immediately. Â They have to report to the authorities in about 3 months time – a bit odd.
In addition they have to do 120 hours community service at the local Animal Protective League (is this the Cleveland Animal Protective League?). Further, they have both been banned from owning a pet for two years unless they obtain specific approval.
An interesting additional part of the sentencing is that they both have to issue a public apology on YouTube and Facebook within one week of their sentencing. That’s a nice touch. I think we should look out for that.
At least they got jail and the sentence seems about right for this crime which by animal cruelty standards was far from the worst case.

Great non-sequitur piece!! If you’re the opposite side of anti-abuse cases, you make those of us who think all life should be treated with respect, and be free from harm, look marvelous.

I have just realised you were commenting on the article but I fail to see why you think the conclusion does not follow from the premise. I have presented a balanced viewpoint. I can’t see what is illogical about that.
Yet, had they killed that cat, it would have been legal. It is the abuse of animals that is illegal. Killing them is legal. Everyone is learning from this … kill your cat before some smarmy cat-advocate gets you in legal trouble for not petting your cat like they want you to pet your cat.
You’re making cats such a popular pet to own, aren’t you. LOL I love it. Then you whine and complain when nobody wants to take all your unwanted cats. YOU are making them the #1 pet to not want. As well as teaching the rest of the world that cat-people are some of the most unstable and manipulative people on the planet — avoid BOTH at all costs.
Please clarify that as it looks absurd. If they had killed it the sentence would have been longer.
