As of 3/08, CFF now accepts Traditional Siamese for championship competition and registration. The breed is called Old Style Siamese. The standard is not that of the Thai cat (classic), it is that of the Traditional Siamese or Applehead.

Sucker for The Modern Meezer
by: Jo Singer

While I have nothing against the traditional Siamese, I am a total sucker for the modern meezers. Their grace and elegance is magnficent. Reputatable Siamese breeders have done a great job in keeping these cats healthy and hearty and their grace and agility are breathtaking.

Of course I am equally nutty about the Oriental Shorthair. It took me a few months of observing the modern siamese, but once my eye grew accustomed to it, not only was I in awe, I totally was smitten.

While all cats are beautiful, the modern Meezer and the Oriental are just totally out of the ballpark beautiful to me.

by: Rudolph.A.Furtado

Thanks for updating "cat Fanciers and enthusiasts" on the Ch Competition. When will the "Traditional doll faced Persian cat " be accepted for Ch Competition now that the "Traditional Siameese' has made it to the "Show ring Status"?

Thanks

Thanks for updating the site on this. It is pleasing to see. Commonsense seems to be taking over and one day the rather strange looking modern Siamese will be second to the original Siamese. Just a personal preference.
