Charles Lindberg with the kitten found in the hangar before his epic transatlantic flight

There are two stories regarding this kitten. Some writers on the Internet state that the kitten’s name was “Patsy”. Patsy was owned by Charles Lindbergh and he had taken her on some test flights in his Ryan monoplane, the Spirit of St Louis. And he posed with the kitten at a press conference before he took off for Paris from New York. I don’t think this story is exactly correct because the better stories that this was a stray kitten finding shelter in the hangar and a mechanic found the kitten and gave it to Lindbergh at the press conference and the photographers took the photograph with them together. He was asked whether he would take the kitten on the flight to keep himself company and he rejected that suggestion because he thought it would be too cold and the kitten might die. That’s the two stories in summary. The better story is the one which states that the kitten was a stray.
