Company incorrectly packages tick treatment for dogs as a cat flea treatment

In the UK don’t use Armitage Pet Care Flea and Tick Drops. It could kill your cat.

Bio-Tech Solutions have admitted that they have packaged ‘flea drops’ (presumed to be a flea spot treatment) incorrectly. In place of the cat flea treatment they have packaged a tick treatment for dogs which contains a well known insecticide called permethrin which is poisonous to cats.

Armitage flea drops. I believe this is the product.

The big problem is that they admit that extent of the mistake is unknown. This means that out there on the shelves and in the store rooms of veterinary clinics are cat flea drops which can kill cats.

The products are: Armitage Pet Care Flea and Tick Drops 702 mg spot-on solution (Vm 20205/4003) and Armitage Flea Drops for Cats and Kittens.

Cat owners should not use the product and return it to the retailer.
