Chris Poole lives in Cary, IL, United States. He is a self-confessed ‘crazy cat man’ and his work with cats is helping to change, in a very positive way, the perception of men who like cats. He has a successful Facebook page on which he is currently documenting his rescue of 30+ cats and kittens from a house of horror. This is how he describes the situation:

Today I went to a house where around 30 cats and kittens live… they were abandoned by their owner last year and now live in absolute filth, the landlord as been feeding them dry food but that’s about it and now realizes that the situation is out of control and she needs help.

We managed to catch 6 kittens, one of which was barely clinging on to life and she’s now in our garage recovering.

It’s truly horrible and gonna take a lot of work to save all these cats, the pics don’t fully show how horrible it is in there, fleas and poop everywhere…

This photo of a tiny, frail kitten touched me. It will touch anyone with a heart. Chris describes the kitten’s predicament:

“Definitely the worse start in life they could of asked for, abscess on the back of her neck from being bitten by another cat, COVERED in fleas, almost no blood left in this tiny body, this pic doesn’t show the flea damage and dirt..”

To pay for veterinarian bills and to meet other expenses in this cat rescue operation, a fundraiser started by Diane Harris (a friend) has been super successful in exceeding the target of $5,000 by reaching $8,140 (and still climbing). Great work. Very impressive. It is amazing how cat lovers on Facebook step up to the plate and give when help is needed.

Chris has worked at the world famous Big Cat Rescue in Tampa Bay Florida for six years. He know about domestic and wild cats. He also has a successful YouTube channel. He educates cat owners on how to improve the lives of cats in their care. He’s certainly educated me with the following neat video. It is a really clever idea; using a cardboard box with the top cut off and an old T-shirt (presumably unwashed for plenty of scent) he made a really cool cat cave.

A lot of women find men who like cats attractive. Here’s a comment from one lady, Stacy Krupilis:

Cat Dads are amazing <3 Sexy too 😉 I love seeing my hubby play with our cats. It makes me want to do his laundry, make him dinner, and jump his bones.

Great work Chris. You deserve your success. It takes a lot of work and dedication and a genuine concern for cat welfare which comes across in spades on your Facebook and YouTube pages.

  1. Good man with plenty of experience and good looks, which could only help where the ladies are concerned. I like cat guys too. In fact I am one, but I wouldn’t know it because I’ve never had to beat them off with a stick. I’m still waiting that kind of attention but I’ll settle for my Calie walking at my side up and down the sidewalk at my heels. Today I had to walk a few blocks to get my car and she followed me half way. When I returned in my car I didn’t see her but knew where she was… where she stopped half way wondering if she should seek and rescue me, but she waited for me to come walking back. She was surprised to see me come from the home direction but so glad she bounced and rolled over all the way home. Let’s see any lady do that for me.
