The caption for this video describes the video content as ‘the cute actions of the pet cat’. These are not cute actions. They are desperate actions! This young ginger tabby wants to get out of his glass prison. It is one of those transparent rucksack-style cat carriers with three breathing holes at the base.
You take your cat for walk. The idea is that full-time indoor cats can get a taste of the outdoors in safety. However, the video was shot at a restaurant. It appears that the owner had taken their cat for a walk to a restaurant. When their cat played up, as we see in the video, they filmed it to make a few bucks.
I don’t know about you but when I see this, I want to set him free. He wants out but it can’t happen because they are at a restaurant. It would be chaos if he was freed. So, for how much longer was the cat imprisoned in this contraption?
I am not saying these cat carriers are all bad. Some cats like them and it does give them the chance to see some of the world other than the living room of their owner’s home. But some cats don’t get it and want to be released. This is one of those unhappy cats.

I would never ever put my cat in one of those glass bubbles. What was the inventor of that thing thinking of? They obviously have zero knowledge about cats. By the way, my cats are indoor-only cats. We live in a big city. Letting them out could be dangerous, even with a harness and leash. They get to see plenty of the world and can watch the birds through the windows of our apartment. Better safe than sorry sometimes.
I agree Kevin. These rucksack carriers look wrong to me. I see the intent which is laudable but I don’t think they quite work. Well done in keeping your cat safe.
