This cute female puma kitten was alone for two days so a mailperson rescued her and took her to a shelter where she was isolated before handing over to wildlife services who will in due course return her to the wild. The animal shelter in Santa Barbara, Calif., who initially took her in, filed her under ‘domestic cat’! She was dehydrated and given fluids and baby food. We don’t know why she was apparently abandoned by her mother. Perhaps she was not abandoned and the mailperson acted too hastily but in the best of faith and in the cat’s best interests.
