Finding a rare male calico is a bit like finding a unicorn, according to Humane Society of St. Joseph County. Only one in 3,000 calico cats turns out to be male.
The Humane Society described ‘David Bowie,’ who is a front declawed stray they believe is around four years old
“David Bowie is a rare and handsome male calico, about 4 years old, and came to us front declawed. Did you know only one of every 3,000 calico cats is male? Finding a stray cat like Bowie is a bit like finding a unicorn! He is currently available in our adoption center and you’ll find it impossible not to fall in love with this affectionate, gorgeous boy.”
This loving boy will definitely need an indoor home since he has no claws to protect himself in the great outdoors. Anyone who wishes to put in an application for adoption may do so here.
Incorporated in 1886, Humane Society of St. Joseph County is one of Indiana’s oldest service organizations and still the areas largest animal care facility. Servicing the greater St. Joseph County region and multiple municipalities, the HSSJC see over 4,500 animals each year. Providing a vast array of community services and educational programs the Humane Society of St. Joseph County truly looks to embody its motto of “WE CARE” on many levels.
Hopefully, the HSSJC will post updates on David Bowie. He’s a rare beauty.
