Veterinarians who declaw cats do far more harm than they imagine. It is shocking to report this. More than half of them leave shards of bone in the paw which causes acute discomfort. Some cats are left with bad backs because their walking technique is altered permanently. Seven times more cats pee outside letterbox when declawed than when they’re not declawed. Cats bite three times more often when declawed than when they’re not declawed. I could go on. The detrimental effects are substantial. Veterinarians do not mention these things when consulting with the cat’s owner if indeed they consult with the owner at all. Shame on veterinarians who declaw cats.
