A sinister threatening note and a black cat bound by cable ties. It is very disturbing. It’s a threat of cat cruelty by perhaps a neighbor who wants a cat kept inside. The note was attached to the cat’s neck as I understand it.
The RSPCA in Australia say they get reports of cat cruelty regularly. It seems that the individual who placed the cable ties on the cat was suggesting that they would strangle or poison the cat if the neighbor did not comply. It’s a direct and sinister threat to the cat’s owner to stop their cat roaming freely.
The cat was also sprayed with a green substance which you can see on the handwritten note. It is not clear why or what the substance is or what it might do to the cat.
You wonder if individuals in Australia are being influenced by state and federal governments because these governments are seeking ways to protect native wild species in Australia. They propose to achieve that by confining domestic cats to the home and garden and by killing feral cats. They never consider TNR programs. That would be too slow.
I wonder too if Australia is becoming a country where they have the greatest degree of hostility to domestic and feral cats outside of China.
