As stated in the infographic, ultimately this is about sentience. I think it is useful to remind ourselves that cats are sentient creatures with emotions. They are very sensitive to the ambience in the home, our behaviour and how we direct our behaviour towards them.
I need to remind myself that we owe a deep obligation to ensure that we interact with our cat sensitively always. And to create an emotionally warm home. Both are reassuring to a cat which improves lifestyle and allows good natural behaviours to be expressed.
You might hear feline exclamations when they are settling in to a comfortable nap on your lap (Ahh..), or when they feel a sharp pain (Ouch!) when for example you have accidentally trodden on their toes. Or perhaps when you eject them from your lap because they have been there for 2 hours and your legs are dead. πππ±

Hi Caroline. Thanks for sharing. Sorry I have not responded promptly to your email. Keep well. Stay strong. My love to your cats.
My feeling about this article that you have taken the time *and* sensitivity to write is that it is a very good reminder to pay attention. Regardless of how your day went, it is something, a little gift, that we owe them for being our beloved friends! π
