This photo is exactly as taken – zero Photoshopping. It is of Gabriel a kitten I am fostering. I have to say that when I do edit photos I do it very judiciously – meaning in a very limited way because if it is overdone it ruins the picture. Photography should have a genuineness about it which is the source of a photograph’s strength and attractiveness.
I love it for its purity, elegance and the expression on Gabriel’s face. The purity and simplicity of the photo is in keeping with Gabriel himself. The colors are truish – he is a little bit browner than this. You can see that Gabs is a grey/brown spotted tabby cat. His eyes are the same color almost.
For people who don’t know, Gabriel is a semi-feral kitten who I am currently fostering and socialising. He is coming on nicely.

He is Very Handsome and Beautiful. Love those Grey Colours and Yes I prefer the Natural look too.
I am pleased you prefer the natural look. Personally I think it suits the subject matter in this instance.
I always do prefer natural look or simple esp when it comes to Cats. You take such amazing photos.
I love the bright expression on his face and the grey bright eyes.
Yea He sounds lovely. 🙂
He is so handsome. I miss having a kitten. My old cats dont mind the gargage men at all. But my dogs love to sit in the yard and bark when they come by.
Well, there he is, not being the Ninja G kitty of yesterday.
He’s gorgeous.
What is he intently looking at?
What we call “dustbin men” – the guys who collect household trash 😉 . I have some more ninja moments!
OK. We call them garbage men.
I had forgotten what you called them. Do your garbage men upset your cats with the noise they make?
I love how cats are “curtain twitchers”, having to see everything go on. They’d make valuable neighbourhood watch members if only they could speak 😉
Adorable.
love him!!! — both pics are beautiful!! — ♥♥♥♥♥
What a lovely photo Michael, Gabriel is so handsome, it’s hard to believe he’s only been with you for a short while.
Every day is a small advancement. Patience is definitely the guide.
Excuse my cheek, this is the Photoshopped version….sorry just had to show the differences.
Alan, your cheek is excused. Nice work. Thanks. I think I slightly prefer the more natural appearance. I wanted that quiet, smooth, soft, grey semi-black and white appearance. But there isn’t much in it. I might try another version myself 😉 . You’ve got me thinking.
Photo shopping can’t enhance the natural beauty of a cat, your photos of Gabriel are perfect as they are.
Has he got blue eyes?? He looks like he does. Mind u thats prob just the kitty Stage. I just love those Photos.
