Although PoC is passionate about cat welfare and the truth (painful though the truth is often is) sometimes it is nice to simply look at a picture of a cat and a second filial Savannah cat is a good subject for a cat picture 😉 It is just a way of lightening the atmosphere a bit.
The photograph was taken in the living room of A1 Savannahs some years ago now. These young cats were being socialised by being allowed to run around the home thereby interacting with both the home owners and visitors. It was good socialisation.
From a purely commercial standpoint it was quite interesting to see tens of thousands of dollars running around the living room because these kittens are very expensive, often costing thousands of dollars each.
Another observation that might interest someone is that this kitten is wearing Soft Claws® (claw caps). The stick-on claw caps. I am not sure why the Stuckis put them on the kittens. It may have been because of my visit but there was no need to do it in fact. That is not a criticism.
Poor thing, I just can’t see how those things allow the claws to go back into the sheath, there surely isn’t room for the claw and the ugly plastic cover in the sheath?
I totally respect the passion for cat welfare from both you and Ruth but I took the photo and as I recall this little guy was happy. I didn’t see signs that the Soft Claws were irritating him but that does not automatically make the product good or satisfactory.
I wish I could put words together like Ruth does ,but I do agree with her.The little kitten is cute ,but he does nt look happy.
lol and much hated by some people too 😉 the ones who don’t like the truth!
God, you’re passionate and a fantastic advocate for cats and the truth. Love it 😉
Poor little kitten, claw caps shoved on so he is unable to enjoy using his claws. A kitten likes to dig his front claws into a toy to hold it while he gives it a good kicking with his back paws. Kittens like to play hunt and kill their prey. But no doubt that kitten and others like him will never have the pleasure of going off a’hunting as cats like to do, he will be kept indoors and only taken out on a leash (if he’s lucky enough to be taken out at all)
Bred for money and glory and being deprived of a natural life, that makes me very very sad.
