This is a story of a feral cat which bit a man on his hand when on his property. He struggled to get the cat off his hand. Critically, we don’t know the circumstances as to why this cat attack this man. That is the important part of the story but we don’t have the information about it. Anyway, he got the cat off his hand. He decided to shoot the cat in the head with his handgun. This destroyed the cat’s brain. This meant that the cat could not be tested for rabies. The consequence was that the man had to be given a full rabies treatment which is painful and expensive. This man, Mr Stoltenberg, believes that he has been deceived by the laboratory and the Humane Society. I think to be honest, and this is entirely my opinion, he made a mistake in shooting the cat dead with a handgun. That mistake has cost him dearly in terms of discomfort, pain and money although he may have been insured and therefore the exorbitant cost of a rabies treatment which is in the many thousands of dollars, may have been avoided.
