Five Turkish Van Type Kittens Abandoned in Suitcase

This is an “abandoned cats” story with a slight difference because the cats are what I call van type cats meaning cats with the classic Turkish Van coat pattern. They are lovely looking kittens. For all I know they could be purebred Turkish Van kittens. Perhaps a breeder abandoned them, although that seems unlikely.

People still abandon cats in the brutal and insensitive of ways. It is pure cat cruelty. In this instance five 9-week-old kittens were found in Clive Street, Cardiff, Wales, UK, inside a battered suitcase.

A passer by decided to open the suitcase. Perhaps he heard the meows. He saw the cute and vulnerable eyes of five kittens looking up at him.

They couldn’t have been there for long because they were is reasonable health except for one who had a doggy right eye.

It seems the rescuer telephoned the RSPCA who now have them in their care.

Why is it so difficult for these people to telephone the RSPCA first and ask for help or contact another rescue facility? Are they that lazy as well as immoral?

Sometimes people can’t cope and I understand that. Of course, we should be sympathetic towards people who struggle but I don’t see how we can be anything other than highly critical of people who stuff kittens into cases and leave them anywhere for someone else (with good fortune) to save them.

The kittens will be rehomed unless the owner comes forward. Fat chance and if they did I tell them to go to a certain place.

  1. This is horrible the Poor Kitties. SO sad that a Pedigree Kittens be Put in a Suitcase. I Hope someone nice will come forward. Are they the Fishing type Kittens. Even in this day and age. People still prefer to Dump animals. Even some of my Friends rather than take to SPCA would rather dump. I Always say to them best to take to SPCA rather than hurt or injure any animal. So sad 🙁

    • Kylee why would some of your friends prefer to dump kittens rather than take them to the SPCA? Is it to avoid feeling guilty? Is it guilt for letting their cat breed due to their irresponsibility?

      • I’m not sure Michael It really annoys me. I think sometimes they prefer the easy way out. They arent close friends, and I always talk them out of it as its just so wrong. I would say it would prob cause they dont want to admit it. It makes me sick when i hear an animal has been dumped or hurt in anyway.

  2. It astonishes me that that sort of abandonment would occur in a place that is animal no-kill and where a call for help wouldn’t mean death.
