Freja, daugther of a NFC

by Tonny
(Denmark)

We got Freja from a family when she was a around 6 months old. The only thing the family could tell about her parents is that her mother is a pure breed NFC but no information about the father.

Anyhow, she’s now 14 months old and loves to sit close to the windows and barks at the birds flying around.

That is if shes not following us around in the house telling us what to do, or perhaps complaining about not being able to capture the birds 🙂

Last but not least she loves water, as you can see in the video she has found a new way to clean her paws 🙂

Cats & water
by: Gail (Boston, MA, USA)

We’ve got a cat at our shelter that doesn’t drink water from the bowl like most cats. She sits next to the bowl, dips her paw into the water, then drinks from her paw. She does it all the time! It’s the funniest thing. She just cups her paw (as if it were a spoon), dips, drinks. Go figure.

Great video
by: Gail (Boston, USA)

Tonny, Your video of Freja is really cute! Notice that her face is not wet? I read somewhere that a cat’s tongue licks at lightning speed which is why they never get their face wet. Perhaps Michael can verify that tidbit?

My Abby, a Maine Coon mix, loves the water also. She sits on the bathroom sink while I shower and when I’m done, I have to turn on the faucet for her to drink. When she’s sated, she’ll jump into the wet tub to splash around in the leftover water. Funny stuff.
