This is the very strange story about a cat with a GPS tracker who ended up speeding down the A180. Kiwi was clocked by owner David McNicholas as going 60 mph.
David got the tracker for Kiwi after she kept disappearing from the Elsham Golf Club where he’s a pro golfer. The tracking device was monitored through his girlfriend Stacey’s phone.
Last week Kiwi was clocked outside her usual territory and Stacey picked up on it. She called David and asked whether Kiwi might have hopped in the car with him by accident.
Stacey followed the signal to Immingham where she saw a stationary lorry. As it turns out, the delivery truck had delivered fish to the golf club earlier in the day and Kiwi had somehow entered the vehicle.
Instead of being treated to fish and chips, Kiwi was treated to a 15-mile ride. This trip comes a month after Kiwi was found miles from home in Brigg town centre. A lost cat social media campaign reunited them on that adventure. David purchased the GPS tracker ‘just in case.’
Golf club chairman Robert Taylor told Grimsby Live
“Of the nine lives Kiwi originally had, a good number must now be missing.”
David has decided Kiwi should be an indoor kitty from now on.
