Homeless man saved rescue animals from fire at nonprofit

NEWS AND COMMENT – ATLANTA, GEORGIA, USA: W-Underdogs is a non-profit organisation which allows at-risk youths to unlock their potential by caring compassionately for abused and neglected animals. It’s an admirable organisation and we know how animals can work wonders on disaffected youths.

Mr Keith Walker is a homeless man of 53-years-of age who has a pitbull dog named Bravo. He shelters his dog at W-Underdogs. He was at the shelter to pick up his dog on 18th December when he saw flames at the shelter. He immediately became nervous about going in because of all the smoke but he says that God put him there to save the animals. There were 6 dogs and 10 cats to save and he saved them all.

He said that, “If you love a dog, you can love anyone in the world. My dog is my best friend, and I wouldn’t be here without him, so I knew I had to save all those other dogs.”

He is described by the founder of the shelter, Gracie Hamlin, as a guardian angel. She said, “He is my guardian angel. Even the firefighters didn’t want to handle the dogs. They called animal control, but Keith was already in the building pulling out the cats and dogs until they were all safe.”

Here’s the Facebook post recording story.
