  1. There is only one instance where a declaw should be done and even then, all options should be exorcised .. and thatโ€™s if the patient has diabetes. Studies have proven that people with diabetes often are prone to infection regardless of how clean and careful they are when they are wounded. In which case, they must be extremely careful when it comes to cats with claws as we know our feline friends donโ€™t mean to hurt us sometimes when they suddenly are frightened by a noise on our lap or are seeking to jump into our laps. My mom had to have hers declawed for that very reason. Even the vet said that they would ONLY do it in that circumstance and ONLY with a note directly from the doctor themself stating the ailment and issues.

  2. You cannot call yourself an animal lover or cat lover and be in favor of declawing. I despise having to argue with people who do and find ways to justify it.

    • Yes. And you’ll find that 99% of cat owners who have declawed their cat will say with complete conviction that they are animal lovers.

  3. A Facebook friend has told me how his two declawed cats are just fine, but I believe it is wishful thinking on his part. I stuck by my guns. It’s not worth the risk of mutilating and causing pain to these animals for the rest of their possibly short lives.

  4. At least this poor victim didn’t walk on her dew claws. ๐Ÿ™ The worst thought is about the cats whose claws regrow on their regular toes.

May the fleas of at least one million cats (before they were treated) infest the shorts of each declaw vet. >:(

    • Yes, a good point Cat’s Meow. I can’t imagine what it must be like for cats walking on toes that have regrowth inside them. Even without that it is problematic in my opinion as the whole architecture of the paw is altered by declawing. Vets who declaw are horrendous.

  5. This photograph is horrifying. That must have been so painful for the poor cat to live with. This fills me with complete anger. Declawing is a form of mutilation that is so severe. It is unthinkable that it was ever allowed as a “medical” procedure at all. This is not medicine. It is barbaric torture. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ง
