Emma Chamberlain currently lives with 2 cats: Declan and Frankie (Nov 2021). It doesn’t surprise me that people want to know how many cats live with Emma Chamberlain because she’s a bit of a star on the Internet. Maybe she’s a big star on the Internet but I’ll let you decide that. The first cat that she adopted was a ginger tabby who she named Declan. Nearly all ginger tabby cats are males and Declan is a male cat. The second was Frankie, a Van-type calico cat. Nearly all calicos are female. A nice symmetry. Both are rescues.

The video
In the video she made about adopting a second cat, she said that she had adopted Declan a few months ago. The video was published on YouTube on January 5 2020. Emma was, therefore, adopting a second cat several months after her first cat.
Note: This is a video from another website. Sometimes they are deleted at source which stops them working on this site. If that has happened, I apologise but I have no control over it.
Declan
In my opinion, she picked very well when she chose to adopt Declan. Ginger tabby cats have good characters if you believe that a cat’s coat is linked to their character. Based on my knowledge of domestic cats, I sense that there is a link and that red tabbies, as a professionals call them, are normally well-balanced and leadership material 😕 !
But Emma Chamberlain wanted to adopt a kitten, specifically a male kitten because she wanted Declan to have company while she was away. And she is away from home quite a lot. Emma did her research about being a responsible cat caregiver. I like that. She honestly felt that she wasn’t able to quite give enough attention to Declan and wanted the assistance of another cat to provide him with company and a play partner. Good thinking, I say. Provided they get along, and Emma mentions that concern in the video on this page. That also indicates that she has done some research on this. The video documents her visits to three shelters to find a rescue kitten. In the third shelter they had three females so she decided to adopt a female rather than a male. She chose well again in my opinion. She chose a calico cat. I don’t know whether she knows that or not. And there’s more; she chose a Turkish Van type cat. This is not a purebred kitten but the kitten that she chose and who she named Frankie has the markings of a Turkish Van purebred cat. So, Frankie is both a Van-type cat and a tortoiseshell-and-white cat as well. Tortoiseshell-and-white cats are called calico cats in America but not the UK. I think she was keen to adopt a calm cat because of her concern that the incoming kitten might not get along her resident cat, Declan. Frankie looks nice and calm. It’s interesting because I made some screenshots of the video to illustrate this page as you can see. And when you do that it kind of helps you understand why she’s so popular. She photographs very well. She is very animated and she has the gift of the gab. She can talk continuously and fluidly. And I think she’s quite artistic because as you can see on this page there is a screenshot of her looking like a ballet dancer. She uses her hands a lot. There’s lots going on when she’s talking to the camera 🙂 . And in the screenshot of her in the rescue centre when she selecting her new kitten, you can see the tenderness in her face. It’s pretty clear to me that she likes animals. She also says that she wanted to adopt a puppy, so badly. There is tenderness in those eyes. Although she comes across as quite hard and determined in her video presentations, using the F-word from time to time. That’s probably a performance below which there is a softness. You got to have that gentleness within you to have a sensitivity towards animals and a concern for their welfare as she has demonstrated. On her Wikipedia page which is quite extensive (indicating her celebrity status), there is no mention of cats. That is an omission! I should add a paragraph about her cats myself but I probably won’t have the time or the desire to bother to do it. A correction needs to be made, however. In the Wikipedia posting she is described as an American Internet personality specifically on YouTube. She has won several prizes and been highly successful. In 2019 Time Magazine included her on its TIME 100 Next list and its list of The 25 Most Influential People on the Internet. I’m told that she pioneered an approach to vlogging that shook up YouTube’s unofficial style guide. There you go! She is a leader and an innovator. She is ambitious and she lives alone in her house with her two cats. Good for her. She must be making quite a good living from her YouTube channel through Google AdSense advertising because she has 11.1 million subscribers and the video on this page has been seen a typical 5.1 million times. In all there have been about 1.5 billion views. Postscript: there is a video, one of the more recent ones, in which she visits an animal shelter because she wants to cuddle a puppy. While she’s doing that, she is very close to adopting a puppy which she falls in love with. But she resisted and she turns to her mother in the car and asked whether she is proud of her. I watched the video because I wanted to confirm to myself that she does not currently live with a dog. She does not at the moment but it looks as though one day she might add to her menagerie! P.S. Emma Frances Chamberlain was born May 22, 2001. Her life is before her. She has achieved success quickly. That can be tough to deal with. Good luck to her.Photogenic
