I Became Friendly with a Black and White Cat

My neighbor has had several feral cats for quite some time. One day I thought I would put out some food and see if any of these cats would come by me. Sure enough, several started eating the food. I put the bowls closer to my house and they kept coming.
I started trying to pet a black and white cat named Domino. My neighbor had names for all these cats. After a while I was able to touch Domino. Eventually I was able to pet her every day. She loved it. I gave her fresh turkey and chicken and salmon and warm milk.
I made a nice house for her outside with a plastic tote and bought a cat bed that gets warm when she lays on it.
She is so nice and cozy in there when it is cold out. She comes to me so I can pet her and she rubs against me and purrs. It is so cute. The other cats come to me for food but I cannot get close to them like with Domino.
I am so happy she has me to take care of her. I think she is too.

Care For Feral Cats In Cold Temperatures
Update: 30th January 2010:…Domino has a friend…
Above I write about my experiences with a black and white cat that I started taking care of. Recently another feral cat in the neighborhood started coming by me and hanging around with Domino, my black and white cat. My neighbor used to have both these cats together inside her house until a major flea problem forced her to put them outside.
I found out that both these cats, Domino and Lucky used to sleep together in her house and now they have hooked up together by me and they both sleep in the cat bin with the heated pad. They share milk and food and play together again. I am happy for Domino that she has her friend back again. They are both warm and get plenty of food.
They are so much fun to watch together. Lucky is a tabby cat. They are both so cute. I will let you know if I adopt any more cats. I am going to need another cat house. Ha! They will definitely be warm this cold winter. I am so satisfied that I did this and so are Domino and Lucky. Barbara
