As you can see from the photograph, this cat was relinquished to this animal shelter in a plastic box with a large rock on the lid to keep the cat trapped inside. The rock could have fallen through because of a large crack in the lid. It took place during freezing conditions and it appears that the cat was left outside for several hours under these conditions. However, there may be a good explanation so we shouldn’t be too harsh in criticising this person who may have been taking a stray or semi-feral cat to the shelter.
