In Memory of Pumpkin

I had a part Maine coon/Tortoiseshell Cat for 6 yrs. She was the love of my life! I always referred to her as my 3rd daughter, (the good one..lol!). She was a very shy and timid cat, but sweet and lovable nonetheless. A few nights ago, she was outside, and a neighbor’s dog, got to her. I believe he was only acting on instinct and was probably trying to play with her, but being such a “scaredy cat” she probably cowed down to him and let him do what he wanted. Unfortunately, I didn’t hear the ruckus outside till it was too late. I chased the dog off, but by the time I got to her, I think he had broken her neck, and she was gasping for air. She only lived a short time after I got her inside safe and warm. I held her paws and told her I don’t know how many times how much I loved her and how sorry I was. I am in such despair over this and hope I will get through it. I am not ready for another kitten or cat. I still have 4, but one day I may want another similar to her and am glad to know there are sites like yours out there. Thank you so much for listening and maybe that will help me some too.

Hi Amy: So tender and sad is your story that it made me cry. I wish you well. This page can be in memory of Pumpkin, your sweet cat. I lost my part Norwegian Forest Cat about 15 years ago in an accident. She was the daughter that I never had and it hurts to this day…..Michael (PoC Admin).
