Infographic answers the question “How can I tell if my cat is happy?”

The infographic answers the question succinctly. There are other signs. But you can work backwards in answering the question. It is like this: a good cat caregiver creates a near perfect environment for their cat companion which ably meets a domestic cat’s requirements. Under these circumstances, assuming the cat is healthy and free of pain, she/he will be happy. You can count on it 💕😃. I touch on what makes for a ‘near perfect’ feline environment in broad brush terms below the infographic. The point here is that the cat’s caregiver dictates the mental health of their cat companion.

Excellent environment

  • A secure and emotionally warm place meaning the body language signals and sounds of their caregiver indicates emotional warmth. ‘Secure’ means calm and predictable with no strange, loud sounds and strange people. The objective: minimise anxiety.
  • A home range for the cat which is not invaded by others.
  • Compatibility between cats in multi-cat homes. Watch out for bullying and resource guarding.
  • Good food.
  • Physical warmth as cats like it warm.
  • Plenty of mental stimulation either by allowing the cat outside or often playing with the cat if a full-time indoor cat.

Tell me some others in a comment please. These thoughts come to me quickly but there will be some other details, I am sure.
