Is your cat a caver? If yes, Jackson Galaxy needs your photos. Cat caving is a term coined by Jackson Galaxy to describe cats who like to go under things (‘the unders’) or into hiding places. He is asking for photos of caving cats. If you have one you might be lucky enough to see it in Jackson’s next book which is in production called ‘Catify to Satisfy’!

Jackson mentions that cat cavers are not ideal because we all want our cats ‘to join the party’ 😉 . Cat cavers are probably timid cats or old cats. It is likely to be one or the other I’d guess. I say old cats because they sleep more and cats tend to find secure places to sleep.
Timid cats like to hide more than outgoing cats because they can be pushed around by the bolder cats in a multi-cat home. It think this is the behavior that Jackson wants to address in his book. It is not all bad though, as he states in the video. If it suits a cat to do some caving them at least his emotions are satisfied.
So if you have a photo of cat caving see if you can get it into Jackson’s new book by going to his website and uploading it.
My 8 year old traditional Persian cat is the definition of the new word “CAT CAVER”. Her history of hiding in cupboards and drawers is too numerous and has been updated in her catster diary and biography. Here is one of her photo’s hiding in my personal drawer which was left open..
That is a classic cat caver picture. You should upload that to the Jackson Galaxy website if you can because it might end up in his book! If you want me to do it for you just ask. Thanks Rudolph.
Michael thanks for this informative new term “CAT CAVING” as also the fact that photographs are required for the “Jackson Galaxy” website on “Cat Caving”.I have written an article and submitted a few photo’s on the “Jackson Galaxy Site”.If the photo ends in the “Jackson Galaxy Book” then i would have the pleasure of having my “Cat Research” on my own cats proving beneficial for other cat owners and fanciers.
Your photo is good enough to illustrate a book. It is a complete classic of ‘cat caving’ as Jackson calls it.
