This is the happy ending story of Little Frankie, a young kitten found in Australia under a house along with his brother. He recently found a forever home with the fosterer who fell in love with him.
The siblings were cared for by the family but soon realized he needed more care than they could offer him. Frankie had medical treatment for a very infected and damaged eye. Oh, and he also has four ears!
Frankie was taken to Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) in Victoria, Australia. His eye was removed immediately as it was a very painful injury. Then Frankie was sent home with Georgi, a fosterer and employee of GAWS.
Georgi described those first few days at home with Frankie in an interview with Love Meow
“Within a couple of hours of him being at home, I realized there was something special about him and couldn’t bear the thought of taking him back. I’ve fostered close to 80 cats and kittens in the last year, and he was the first one I would have had trouble giving back. So I made the decision to adopt him.”
Being born with four ears is a genetic deformity, as is his overbite. Surgery will be needed in the future to remove teeth to prevent them from growing into the roof of his mouth.
Since GAWS believes every life is precious, the welfare society is paying all of Frankie’s medical expenses, including aftercare.
The sweet kitty loves ear scratches and loves to cuddle. He’s made a new best friend in Georgi’s son Arthur. Frankie recently visited a 90-year-old woman on her birthday and made her day very special. “We could learn a lot about life from cats,” Georgi added.
