Some cute ones of Furby and Lola

Some cute ones of Furby and Lola

I have a very confused but happy Furby. Lola too for that matter. I'll let Furby go first then I'll clear things up at the end.

Hi everybody! It's Furby! I wanted to write earlier this week but mama and myself have both had a busy week. I didn't know it until yesterday but my cat mama, Lola, was broke.

At least that's what I've been able to figure out from listening to mama. Mama got up really early Wednesday morning. I'm not really sure if mama or Laura went to bed Tuesday night. I heard Laura and Mama talking about having Lola fixed. I'm smart because I knew Lola was broken WEEKS ago. Lola had driven everyone crazy meowing all the time. She'd go from one end of the house to the other. I wouldn't really call it a meow. I have a really sweet meow. I say me-auw when I talk. Lola was screaming WOW-WHOA!WOW-WOO!

I kept trying to get mama to take me to bed with her at night so I didn't hear Lola. Mama wouldn't let me sleep in the room with her. She said I'd scare the dogs if they woke up and I was staring at them. I didn't understand. That would be fun.

I'd follow Lola around to see if I could help fix her meow but that only made things worse. Lola's legs would go out from under her and she'd be crawling on her belly saying WOW-WHOA! So her meow and her legs were broken. Then she'd stop and stick her tail in the air. That's when I'd run into her. How embarrassing. Yep! She was broken and needed to be fixed.

Lola had quite a bad attitude too. She even slapped me a few times. Here's a movie of us on the TV. It's short but it's proof Lola was mean to me. I want to sue her for kitten abuse! I know it doesn't look like it, but I won that fight. Laying on top of the TV is my #1 spot now.

Anyway, Lola caused our food and water to be taken away Tuesday night. Mama and Laura had already told me to eat and drink before I went to bed because Lola was going Wednesday morning to get fixed. I sure did miss her Wednesday. I couldn't wait for her to come home.

Boy, was I wrong about the fixing part. Mama had to let her out of her house carrier to go to the litter box. Lola was drunk. She fell on her side three times before she made it to the litter box. Laura tried to hold her up while she went to the bathroom, but Lola is cat-headed and had to do it by herself. Laura put Lola back in the house carrier because Lola was too broken to walk around the house. At least her stupid meowing had stopped. I stayed close to her cage to protect her. I AM the king and the king has to look after his queen. That's my broke cat story.

Now I want to tell everybody the really big news. Mama and me are writing a Furby book for children. I can't wait. She's picking the pictures and I'm telling the story. We make a really good team. I'm gonna be famous. I'm gonna be rich. The greatest cat IN THE WORLD!! WAIT A MINUTE MAMA-I'M NOT FINISHED!!

Sorry everyone-I had to take the computer away from Furby. He gets a little carried away sometimes.

I'd like to add that Lola is doing fine today and taking it easy. She had to stay confined last night until the anesthetic wore off. I've never had a cat that stayed in heat like she did. The clinic was so back logged it took over a month to wait for her scheduled appointment. She was spayed, claws trimmed, ears treated, worm medicine sent home with me. Everything was $100 thru the Greenwood Humane Society. This also included the test for FeLv/Feline Aids and covered all of her vaccines. We were thankful she tested negative. I love the people at the clinic here. You can really tell they love animals. My only regret is how long Lola had to suffer with this.

Laura noted that her release papers stated that she was a high risk surgery because she was in heat. For the past 2 months I think Lola has been in heat all of the time. She'd be active in her behavior for 5-6 days then get sweet again then it would start up again 3 days later. When I took her in she had been non vocal for 4 days. Physically she was still in heat. Now Laura is extremely happy because Lola has turned overnight into a sweet loving cat. She even joked that the wrong cat was sent home. It's a fast turn around in Lola's attitude.

Now we just have to give her time to lay around and heal. I'm keeping Furby entertained writing his children's book. Everyone has been wanting me to do it. That's it for now. Let me know what you think of the children's picture book.

Furby is too into himself to talk about cats. He's gonna tell how he likes to take naps and show his toys and his best friends. He's also gonna talk about having your picture made is not scary and visiting the doctor is OK. And to stay away from fire and stoves. Some of the pictures aren't his best but they're good enough to use to tell what he wants to tell. My only problem is the software won't save the project so I'm gonna have to layout all the pictures at one go. I'm about to get started now.

I know Furby personally, so I know how he thinks, and he is a great storyteller. Lola is very independent, she still won't let me hold her when I visit. I am glad she is feeling better. Keep writing Furby, and Joyce glad you are going to do a book on cats. A "How To Teach Your Child About Cats" would be good.

"FIXED" is the word used where I live and includes both neutering and spaying. Just to clear up any confusion.

When people get worried they keep reading to the end. I admit it, I'm a tease. I draw you in and keep you there. Once you read one of Furby's stories you want to read them all.

It does make you wonder if that's the way Furby really looks at life. The way he sees things just pops in my head. I never know what his next adventure will be.

Lola was horrible in heat and we felt so bad for her. I wanted the Greenwood Humane Society to do her not only because of the cost but because that's what they do. Over and over and over so they're really good at it. Her incision is only about 1 1/2 inches. I remember when females had a 4 inch incision. She's spent most of the day sleeping.

Goodnight Michael, I can go to bed now that both stories have posted.

When I read this for the first time I got worried about Lola. I thought she was really ill but them discovered she was in heat!

I am glad she is OK now and what a great price for all the vet work. There are some good vets 🙂

I hope they don't declaw though.....grrrr

Kisses to Furby and Lola.
