New Little Angels

Hello everyone. It's me, Jan Plant, been awhile I know. Wanted to bring everyone up to speed and share some bittersweet happiness with all my wonderful friends here. The "Wild Bunch" ferals who found homes on the farms are all doing wonderfully and adapting well, which left me down to three.

Well, my friends, it seems the vacancies have been filled. Naturally this time of year we have a lot of dumps in my area. We got three VERY pregnant females. "Stranger" the GIANT feral tom is still evading trapping. We did manage to get him trapped for fixing, but he is still mean as a snake and we're attempting to move him to a farm.

But our three mamas, well... two days ago I heard some pitiful sounds coming from their "livingroom" on our deck. Went and peeked and sure enough, mama one was in labor. Well, these are photos of the first three born here, on my deck. Sorry they aren't very good, she was not happy me sneaking them! LOL! "Tiny mama" had hers, I assume a few hours later in the back yard in an old dead log.

Only got a glimpse today as she is severely upset if you even get close. But I did count three tiny heads. I've been placing wet food and fresh water out back close for her so as she doesn't have to come all the way out front if hungry. Still feeding them dry but figure the extra wet food will help their milk.

These babies are so tiny and I am just so happy they all seem healthy. We all know the joy of seeing new life and mamas with their young. Just so sad to know that these tiny babies are without forever homes and some callous human tossed their mothers away like so much "yesterdays rubbish".

Oh, well.H...! ya'll know that they won't go with out here and I've notified the vet...again...One thing you can guarantee; these babies will not be having babies of their own! I hate to deny anything motherhood but we do have to look at this realistically (and John is not really up to me starting my own "Cat House" - LOL).

I just had to share these photos and share my happiness with all of my friends, old and new. Right now I'm calling them Larry, Curlie and Mo, till we can actually get a better look.

Michael, thank you once again sir for your generous donation! Babies say thank you also.

XXXXXXXXX Jan and the NEW "Wild Bunch"

Hi Jan. Good to hear from you again. They are so fine - two snow balls and an orange. Looking forward to hearing more about them all.
I hate the thought of people dumping cats from cars, but what a luck for these little ones that their mothers were dumped in your vicinity and not somewhere else.

It is so good to hear about your new babies Jan. They are gorgeous. Those little white one's look like real angels.

I hope they all find forever homes, but in the meantime...we can rest assured they are in your capable hands and will be well cared for.

Good luck with tiny Mama. It would be good to get the little ones socialized.

Mar 13, 2010 I wondered where you were
by: Joyce Sammons

I didn't know what had happened to you. I hope you can take pictures of all of them as they grow. I've had Lola and Furby both fixed now. Furby is totally tame until you watch him eat. You'd think we starve him the way he grabs food. I about had to chase him down for a chicken leg the other day. Lola had been about to run us nuts in heat but it took a month for her appointment to get here. Download PhotoScape for your pictures. It's free and its very easy to use. Check out all I've added to my site. I even have links to poison control and no kill shelters. Its at http://www.furbytheferalfeline.shutterfly.com. It would be great for you to do a site there and link your stories to POC like I did.Shutterfly gives you all kind of free pictures for starting sites and adding video.

Hi Jan, I am glad that you are still around, still helping feral cats. I'll be sending a bit more $ -- those are hungry mouths....
