I have to report this but I have very little on it. In fact the source of the information is a comment made 20 hours ago on another site. The person says that he once worked for a major zoological park near Chicago. There appears to be three such zoos: Lincoln Park Zoo, Brookfield Zoo and Chicago Zoological Park. The first and third are ‘zoological parks’ and likely to be the ones referred to.
This person, who I believe is Paul Vincent Zecchino, says that the zoo’s solution to cats wandering around the zoo, by which he means stray domestic cat, was to trap and drown them. The dead cats were disposed of in the “on-site incinerator”. He openly admits in the comment that the cats were unlikely to be feral because the zoo is located in a highly populated suburban area.
Feeding reptiles with stray cats?
His also says that you wouldn’t want to know what goes on in the reptile house at feeding time. He’s obviously implying that sometimes stray cats are fed to reptiles probably alligators and crocodiles. That’s my guess.
As I said, it needs reporting. I don’t know whether it’s true or whether he’s just a troll having some sick fun. My impression is that he is not a troll and that what he has stated his true.
