Man allegedly gave amphetamines to girlfriend’s cat. His phone reveals intent.

The girlfriend of Frank Jesse, 45, called 911 after she read the text messages on his cellphone while he was sleeping off booze. One of the messages to a friend revealed that he was going to poison her cat. She also found Google searches on his phone on how to kill a cat with amphetamines.

In her 911 call she said:

I read through his phone that he poisoned my cat. I’m really scared for my life right now.

The 911 call resulted in Jesse’s arrest and subsequent charges of domestic violence and animal cruelty. It kicked off when the victim said that her cat was acting strangely and walking around in circles.

Bob Kealing of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said that there is clear evidence that the suspect intended to poison the woman’s cat. Kealing has decided the alleged crime is a 3rd degree felony which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. The police have Jesses’s phone for evidence.

For a while the cat could not be found. When found he/she was taken to a veterinarian where the cat tested positive for amphetamines. There is nothing in a vet’s armoury of medicines which could have produced this result.

The cat is now doing okay, thankfully.

Comment: the evidence is strong. Jesse is still in the Seminole County jail. The bond totals $11,000 for the two charges. Source: WESH Orlando, USA.
