Man has 15 cats, 22 litter boxes and no smell. Here’s how he did it.

Peter Cohen

This man is smart and he loves cats more than humans. He is a property developer. His name is Peter Cohen. He lives in a splendid California home. It looks like a tropical paradise. He bought it to develop it but decided to live in it instead. The house came with two stray cats. I think he has 26 cats now but at the time the video below was made he said he had 15. He’s still collecting them 🙂 .

The first good point is that he has more litter boxes than cats – a lot more. But here is the golden touch: he puts the litter boxes in closets (an enclosed space) and creates negative air pressure in the enclosed space by running a ventilating fan 24/7 which sucks the air out to the exterior of the home. The smell stays in the closets. Bingo.

Mr Cohen is not only smart but he has some cash to put towards looking after his large number of cats. And you have to budget like this. You have to have a good disposable income if you want to look after a large number of cats to a high standard. This is where a lot of people fall down. They can’t cope partly because of a lack of cash.

And he does a fantastic job of it. I don’t think you could do better if you wanted to look after a lot of cats. It is absolutely out of the top drawer of cat guardianship quality. He seems to like Siamese cats or pointed cats. A lot of them are pointed.

He has a very tidy, organised home and the cats integrate into it beautifully. It isn’t just the litter boxes, he has cat runs all over the place. Bravo to Mr Cohen. He’s a master of the large multi-cat home and it does not smell. That’s a master stroke.
