This tells us a reason why some people kill outdoor, domestic and stray cats. In this case a Middletown, Ohio man pleaded guilty to animal cruelty after killing ‘numerous’ cats. Some were found in his freezer last August. Why did he do that? Was it a part of the process of expressing anger?
So anger caused this man to kill innocent animals. It seems that wandering domestic cats can be recipients of expressed anger by humans who want to vent their anger.
Of course the anger often has nothing to do with cats. I’d speculate that the reason is a human issue meaning this man had a beef with other people or someone or something. Yes, sometimes people are angry at stray cats but that it no always the case. Far from it.
Would I be wrong in saying that for this man killing cats was like punching a punch bag – a release of anger and frustration?
This is another reason to keep cats inside but this is a sad state of affairs. The better solution to protect cats is to change society and human behavior such that this sort of deviant and criminal behavior does not manifest itself.
In a way keeping cats indoors makes the cat a victim of human failure.
