Man nonchalantly traverses the outside of high rise block to retrieve his cat

Man traverses outside of building to get his cat

His cat had somehow got inside a neighbouring apartment. The man had knocked on his neighbour’s door without success so he decided to retrieve his cat by walking along a ledge on the outside of the building to his neighbour’s balcony where his cat was stranded.

He feared for his cat’s safety so decided to have a go. And he looks so nonchalant. The ledge is quite wide but one slip and he’d have been a gonna.

The block is Liberty Village. I believe it is in Toronto, Canada.

The cat looks like a Somali at a distance. This is a longhaired Abyssinian. Fortunately his cat was very compliant and passive.

You can imagine what might have happened if his cat panicked and jumped out of his grasp.

I think I would have used a gentle scruff of neck hold with one hand to ensure that he kept calm. It always works.

  2. Yes, Yes, Yes! 🙂 He wasn’t very nibble was he? Good point. I thought he might go over the edge when he was climbing over the railings and on to the ledge.

  3. He wasn’t very nimble climbing over the railing though. And I’d have held the cat close to my chest, probably with a neck scruff too. Lastly, he should train the cat to come when called, so he wouldn’t have to endanger himself like that.
